My grandaughter Alyssa asked me earlier last evening...."do you love Darren?" (my husband whom I've been separated for a year) I said "yes, I do". She said "ya'll are friends". I said "yes" She said "then why don't ya'll live together?" I told her sometimes things happen and people can get along better not living together. She then said that she knew I loved my house here but she wished we could get houses together side by side! From the mouths of babes, huh?
She doesn't understand, and you know what? Neither do I!! Sometimes. I honestly don't know what my future holds. Like Darren says, I too just take each day at a time. But I wonder what will happen when and if the day comes that someone else steps into the picture. Will it matter then? Will it bother him then? Will there be regrets and the feeling of loss one has when you lose someone? I guess only time will tell when it happens!
