We're here!

We're here. Where is here? On a Lake in Greenwood, South Carolina. Came up for the weekend for my cousins's 60th birthday celebration. And yes, it is a celebration. Her husband and friends did a wonderful job with all the party details. From the place, an old, old building redone, with party tables, open bar, (love those open bars!), wonderful, delicious food, give you the menu later, Dj with music she picked mostly from back in her era, and of course some Karokeing to go with it. She did know about it, just wouldn't let her have any input into the planning. As she said, she is a control freak and it just about drove her crazy not being able to have a say so or handle on things. Me and my sister, Vickie, who doesn't understand blogging by the way and said she'd like to write a blog on people blogging their lives, my other 2 cousins, all sisters of the b'day girl, and their mom, my Aunt all came. The b'day cuz lives in a beautiful house on this lake, but my Aunt rented a house just for us to be able to all stay. So off we went to the party, came home, all changed into loose fitting clothes after all the food and drink, and sat around the kitchen table talking about old stories, catching up, laughing up a storm. Isn't that where all the most fun is? The kitchen or the kitchen table? I got lots of pictures from the party, and will be sharing some when I can load them. I guess with my age also, can't sleep to good in a strange bed. Heck lately can't sleep to good in my own bed! So, I'm up at 6am, made me some coffee, and out here on this lovely deck overlooking this beautiful lake. It's so quiet, except the sound of a few boats already cruising by. Now THIS is the life. Maybe that's where I should go once I retire. To live on a lake. Doesn't matter if it's a double wide, heck, even a single wide. There's just something about waking up with the water at your back door and ducks or geese, or like just now, someone's panting dog running by, making their noises.
Oh and back to the subject of my sister's opinion of blogging. She says people ought to get a dairy like the old fashion days and write what your feelings are and then hide it under your mattress. I'm sure there are people that still do that. And there may be nobody that reads my blog, mine is one about feelings or day to day happenings. It may be boring as hell to some, but to me it lets me type out whatever I am feeling about whomever or just...whatever. Doesn't matter. If nobody wants to read it, then don't. If you happen across my blog, then if you can, then do! Maybe call it a stress re-leaver,? That sounds good. Stress Re-Leaver.
Birthday cuz, Dohnna, and her husband are driving up to get us right before noon on the pontoon boat to go back to their house for lunch, leftover party food, and then chillin out and exchanging stories, catching each other up to date again. I wonder how long this ride on the water will be. By road my Aunt said it's about an hour, I think it'll be shorter on water. What a start to a beautiful day!
