I'm way behind in writing on my blog. To catch up and finish up 2010, I did loose my Country Girl. December 3rd. As I've written she has been sick for awhile. Everything I did just didn't seem to help. When I thought I'd succeeded in helping out one problem, another one would take over. I knew her time was near when her weight started dropping rapidly, even though she would still eat all her food. The last few days, she would just lay down...alot. I gave her as much love, hugs, and kisses as I could. We buried her where she's lived for the last 9 years. I will get her a cross made as soon as I can to put at her grave. I miss her sweet neigh and face still. She was the sweetest horse. That left my Sambo, whose personality is completely different from Country's, alone. He looked and neighed for her so. He has stood around in his pen looking so lonely and downcast. I had several offers/suggestions for companions for him. From moving him, to a donkey friend, to another horse. After thinking about it and deciding, and watching him just look so unhappy, I went with my friend's offer to use one of her many horses as a companion horse. She's a beautiful, big, tall quarter horse that is 10 years old. Her name is April. She has the disposition as Country. A sweetie too. She comes when called, she follows me around in the pen. He still seems a little different since Country passed. But hopefully as time gets better, so will he. He is 22 years old. I have to remember that.
Christmas came and went. I got to spend a week with my grandgirls here at the house. New Years was quiet. Spent it with 2 of my friends that have a cabin on the river and we talked, laughed, and rode in the woods on their, as they call it, "the Indian Pass shuttle".
So now the New Year begins! Let's hope this year will be a great one for everybody. And that I can write in my blog more, and keep enjoying reading my friends blogs and finding more!
Happy New Year!!
