Guess what? I don't blog to well. I don't do it everyday. My mind doesn't work to think about commenting on the happenings of our town, or world. I just talk about what's going on in my life or my kids life, or of course my animal's lifes! But I guess that's what a blog is for. It's for whatever floats your boat. And if one wants to talk about world events, or personal trauma and drama, :), then hey, go for it! So, I go for it! I enjoy reading my friends blogs. Don't have that many I've found to my liking, but then again, that's MY liking, my opinion. But do keep my eyes and ears open on things I might find interesting or funny.
So....on that "note".....I'm off for 4 days and don't have a damn thing to do!! ha ha. I did take care of getting a haircut and had my yearly eye exam and actually finally updated my 5 year old glass prescription. I tried contacts last year for bifocals but didn't work. New vision insurance plan started at work for 2011 and I was waiting on that to get new glasses. I think I'm gonna love um. More so I'll love not having to put them on, take them off, put them on, take them off, look for where I left them last time, etc. (that's what you do with reading glasses)
Me and my youngest brother, heck, he's 40 or so, and never been married, finally got engaged over Christmas and we've been texting each other tonight and he told me they're going to Puerito Rico to get married. They'll be there for a week either in August or Sept. They figure with the stay and flight, it'll ONLY cost about 1000. but he made sure to tell me he has a couple of "rich" friends that are going and maybe I can bum off them! That's kinda iffy to go that far to mooch off someone I have either met once or twice, can't remember if I've met them, or never met them at all! My brother said his other friends are to cheap to go. I wrote back and told him that's alot of money to spend to go to someone's wedding, and he should understand that. I love my brother and it's certainly up to him to decide where to have his dream wedding, but hey, ya gotta understand the moola situation for everybody. If I get to go, it'll be a miracle! I better get to smoozing with those rich friends of his! ha!
My younger daughter and I haven't been getting along worth a toot. She keeps telling me she's moving out. Like that's a threat. I told her, why are you telling me? Are you threatening me? "If you can move out, go ahead. You don't pay rent or buy food so it's nothing off my back. All you do is eat my chips anyway!" I think alot she's to much like me, but I honestly don't think I was THAT bad. I just wonder what furniture she's planned on having cause she don't have none! I've learned over the years with my children, I can preach, lecture, talk quietly, talk loudly, talk sensibly, but most of the time it don't make a hill of beans. They're going to do exactly as they want and learn as they go. As I did. I'm just, as any decent parent wants to do, just trying to make that path a little easier for them since "been there, done that". They don't seem to care. So...go ahead. Find out for yourself.
I was going to get my 2 yr old grandaughter today but got to get them next weekend cause Alyssa turns 8. So, I decided to wait. Selfish reasons I guess. Even though I have a great time with them here, Alyssa wouldn't be coming this weekend anyway, she's going to her other grandparents. Next weekend! Party at Johnny G's! Fun fun. I'm to old for a bunch of screaming and running around kids. Mine are ok, but everybody else's? SCREEK! The horror! I'm so mean.
I've got to rein myself in when I go to restaurants. I'm finding myself griping and complaining about the food now when I go out to eat! I've always let them know when my steak isn't cooked right, but it's gotton like if something is not right at all, back it goes. Maybe that's an age thing? My friend and I ate at a local BBQ restaurant that's been in our town for 100 years. Literally. Passed down to family and I think finally sold to another family. My fries were barely warm. I sent them back. And would you believe I was charged extra for the smushy tomato and lettuce on my damn cheeseburger?! My friend got her's plain and when we went to pay, she paid first and then the cashier asked me did I have l and t on it and when I said yes, she said that's a little more. I said, "what?!" you charge for lettuce and tomato, even when the tomato was smushy?" She said yes. So I paid for the white part of the lettuce, wasn't even the green part, and a smushy slice of tomatoe ON, mind you, ON a cold bun! There's not many places in Cochran to eat, and IF I do go back there, I'll bring my own lettuce and tomato in a zip lock bag in my pocketbook, and ask them when I send the fries back the 2nd time to also warm the damn bun. I should have taken a picture of that tomato and that white piece of lettuce. I gotta remember to start doing things like that for my blog!
Guess I've bitched enough for one night!
